Welcome to my blog. I invite you to join me on my journey towards meeting my goals of reducing my weight and increasing my running pace**. I will be looking at how technology, both web based and pc/mobile tools, can help enhance motivation and enable me to achieve my goals.
I will be testing the various exercise and diet tools and resources available and letting you know how I get on with them. I will be posting reviews and ratings and would love it if others also tried them and posted their experiences and comments.
This blog is about my journey to improve my running and lose weight using technology to enhance motivation and is for anyone who has ever puffed, plodded, jogged or ran but wished they were better at it.
Some brief background on the TechnoTrotter then…. I have been running (substitute shuffling, plodding, jogging, puffing) for years (at least 8).
To say I have any natural talent or even vaguely have a runner’s physique (5ft 1″ with hips!) is probably the understatement of the century. You’re talking here about someone who plumped for extra maths (yes, you read correctly maths) instead of PE. I somehow found myself married to a sporty person who liked running and assumed that I should like it to (amazing how some people can be so misguided!).
To cut a long story short, I have plodded, moaned, ranted, shuffled, jogged and ocasionally run my way to the point where I am improving and can actually say that I love running. My body however is still trying to catch up with this new found enthusiasm and, having been stuck for a while at the same running pace and weight, this ‘thirtysomething’ girl needs some motivational assistance in getting further improvement kick-started.
This blog will chart my journey towards my running and diet goals using technology to keep me motivated along the way.
